Our Mission Statement
To bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the Deaf and hard of hearing and challenge
and equip others to do the same. To train the Body of Christ to effectively communicate
the Gospel to the Hearing Impaired and to disciple them to become strong believers
who in turn share the Gospel with others!
To follow the Lord’s leading in bringing Deaf Ministries into churches throughout
the United States.
Our Vision
A. To provide an understanding to churches of the needs of the Deaf and
pray that God would give these churches a burden for the Deaf.
- Visiting the churches and sharing with them the needs of the Deaf can accomplish
this. We will provide them with the population of the Deaf in their state and the
population of those who have not yet even heard the Gospel.
- Through attending the National Conference and Regional Conferences, we can continue
to make aware the large unreached population of the Deaf.
B. To train and equip churches to begin Deaf Ministries.
- Once a church has a burden for the Deaf and feels the Lord is leading them into
beginning a Deaf Ministry we will assess the needs and gifts of that particular
church and begin to train and equip them to begin a Deaf Ministry.
- Through books, videos, CD-Roms, local classes and workshops the people in the Deaf
Ministry can learn the culture and language of the Deaf.
- Through workshops at the National and Regional Conferences we can prepare the Deaf
Ministry workers for service.
C. To train workers to do outreach and mission work for the Deaf in their
communities and throughout the United States by personal witnessing, evangelism,
home missions and discipleship.
- Once a Deaf Ministry is ready to begin we will go out into the community and visit
with the Deaf in their homes, campuses, and at various other locations (such as
Deaf bowling leagues or Deaf clubs) and begin outreach to them.
- As the Deaf Ministry begins to grow one-to-one discipleships, Bible studies, and
Sunday school classes for the Deaf will be established.
- Long and short-term missions would be established to reach the Deaf locally and
abroad. Long-term missions can include campus ministries, and an example of short-term
missions might be attending the Deaf Olympics.
- Establish missions to churches in other countries to help build Deaf Ministries
in those countries.
D. To encourage churches with Deaf Ministries to connect together for
a variety of events such as retreats, seminars, state and national conferences etc.
- As Deaf Ministries begin to increase, churches can join together for Deaf retreats,
seminars, state and national conferences. These will encourage the Deaf and hearing
in the Deaf Ministries and help them to grow.
- Special events that are for the Deaf will encourage the Deaf to invite other Deaf
to come, and the Gospel can be shared with these visitors.
E. To establish a cooperative network within churches of Deaf Ministries.
- Working together throughout the United States thousands of Deaf souls can be saved!
F. To establish (plant) Deaf churches throughout the United States.
- As Deaf Ministries within a church grow, and God brings up a pastor for them, these
ministries can break off from the hearing church and establish a Deaf church.
- Assist the colleges and seminaries to have their schools available to the Deaf.
Also, use the colleges for training hearing people for Deaf Ministry.
- We understand these to be both short and long term goals. We feel that God has shown
us what can be done if we are completely responsive to Him and His calling for us.
